Who We Are

• Mimaansa is an organization addressing the core issue of Learning Difficulties/ at risk of Learning Difficulties/Other Learning Lags in the under resourced municipal schools. Since its inception in 2012 Mimaansa has expanded its operations from 1 English Medium School under Thane Municipal Corporation to 19 Schools (1 English Medium & 18 Marathi Medium ) and 7 Schools under Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Mimaansa is the only organisation that addresses the issue of the Learning Difficulties on the campus of mainstream Government Schools. Our work is in line with SDG 3 & 4. Our programme is in sync with SCERT's latest initiative of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy skills. Our Intervention Model is in sync with the Educational Cause in the Right to Education Act, it promotes Inclusive Education through Direct Intervention and Capacity Building of the Target Schools. The Programme consists of 4 main Verticals :- Remediation, Counselling, Teacher Training and Parent's Counselling. Due to ignorance (being a root cause of the problem) about Learning Difficulties faced by children, students who needs special attention are left ignored in their mainstream classroom. This ignorance does not permit the students to avail the provisions which ensures that they at least pass 10th std nor they are taught using alternative methods of education. As a result drop out rates increases. Mimaansa intends to bring to light these learning difficulties by providing facilities of early detection and intervention. Thus mitigating school drop out rate of students by creating adequate learning opportunities and overall development. 18% of students in India suffer from Learning Difficulties, 75% are never diagnosed resulting into high school drop out rate of 25%. ASER's latest report year 2022 children's basic literacy level have taken a big hit resulting onto sharp drop with Learning Difficulties. Here, Mimaansa's Programme plays a vital role.
