Problem - Moderate development and population expansion around Pune, both in the surrounding towns and villages, had taken a heavy toll on the area. Pune has very less number of trees and hence, requires afforestation. The proposed area is situated around the airport and thus witnesses moderate to heavy flow of traffic and footfall. With lack of shade and green cover, the area has turned dry and barren. Thus, afforestation in this region will help improve the environment, regulate temperature and provide relief to the daily visitors and entire Pune population.

Solution - As a part of restoration, our objective is to improve the environment of Pune region, provide relief to daily visitors of the region and entire Pune population and increase bio diversity of the region and bring back the bird and wildlife to the middle of the city by planting a mix of fruit bearing, medicinal and native forest variety trees. Installation of a solar micro drip irrigation system in the entire area of 25 acres will assist to conserve water and to make forest sustainable.

Impact - These trees will help in reducing pollution, regulate temperature, increase biodiversity of the region, provide relief to daily visitors and bring back the bird and wildlife as well as greenery to the city
