Who We Are

For over ninety years, the venerable Hindu Women's Welfare Society (HWWS) has been an unwavering beacon of compassion and support, embodying the motto "Helping Women's Lives Take Flight." Fondly known as the Shraddhanand Mahilashram, this esteemed non-profit institution has dedicated itself to providing refuge and rehabilitation to underprivileged children, women, and elderly women seeking homely shelter.

The Balgruha, meticulously managing the affairs of children up to 18 years, and the Adhargruha, providing shelter for women aged 18 and above, stand as testament to the profound commitment of HWWS to address the emotional and psychological pain endured by these individuals. Additionally, the Shraddhanand Mahilashram Vruddhashram offers a warm and comfortable haven for elderly women without families of their own, ensuring they spend their sunset years in tranquility.

Beyond these vital initiatives, HWWS oversees two hostels—one catering to girl students aspiring for quality education in Mumbai and the other supporting working women who have recently arrived in the city for employment. Through its enduring mission, HWWS continues to uplift and empower lives, fostering hope and enabling dreams to soar.
