Building Parent Capacity in Financial Literacy

Over 36 days, Financial Literacy trainings were conducted across 10 centres in the Ranchi district of Jarkhand. A total of 254 parents were sensitized to improve their awareness on financial health and financial literacy. The sessions aimed at helping families and parents identify goals and strategies to support children’s upbringing, growth, and learning all from the standpoint of financial health. By the end of these sessions, parents were aware of the different ways to save their money, how they can create a budget for the family and work with that to manage their expenses. Another important lesson was how to borrow and what are the healthy ways to borrow.
