Hello everyone my name is Ayush dixit from Lucknow Uttar Pradesh . Currently I am pursuing D. Pharma from hind institute of medical sciences Barabanki and worked as volunteer Intern in CanKids I am a Hodgkins lymphoma cancer survivor. I will be running the Tata Mumbai Marathon Dream Run to raise funds to support children with cancer for CanKids KidsCan, The National Society For Change For Childhood Cancer In India. And need your help to achieve the same.
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma in 2007. As a childhood cancer patient and teenage survivor, I have faced many challenges that have shaped my life in profound ways. My journey with cancer began when I was just six years old. At the time, I had no idea what was happening to me, and I had no idea what lay ahead.
As a childhood cancer patient, I faced numerous challenges. The physical challenges of cancer treatment were especially difficult for me. I remember feeling constantly nauseous and exhausted, and I hated the way that chemotherapy made me feel. The emotional challenges were also difficult to navigate. I felt isolated from my peers, who didn't understand what I was going through, and I struggled to maintain my sense of identity in the face of such a life-changing experience.
As I got older, the challenges of being a teenage cancer survivor became even more complex. One of the biggest challenges I faced was the fear of recurrence. Even though I had been in remission for several years, I still worried that the cancer would come back. This fear was compounded by the fact that I had to continue with regular check-ups and scans, which served as constant reminders of my cancer experience.
Perhaps the most significant challenge I faced as a teenage cancer survivor was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Cancer had disrupted my education and delayed my career goals, and I found myself unsure of what I wanted to do with my life. I felt like I had lost valuable time, and I struggled to catch up with my peers who had not faced the same challenges.
Despite the challenges I faced, being a childhood cancer patient and teenage survivor has also taught me some valuable lessons. I learned the importance of resilience, perseverance, and gratitude. I learned to appreciate the little things in life and to be grateful for each day that I have. I also learned the value of a supportive community, and I am grateful for the friends and family who have supported me throughout my cancer journey.
I am proud to share that I am participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) in the dream run category with 19 other cancer survivors, like me and our goal extends beyond personal achievements. We are dedicated to raising funds to support children fighting cancer, and this year, I have set a target of a 31000 Rs.
I am reaching out to friends, family, and colleagues, urging them to contribute whatever they can to this cause. Every contribution, no matter how small, will play a crucial role in saving the lives of children battling cancer. Your support is not just a donation it's a step towards saving a child's life.
Join me in this journey, contribute to the cause, and let's collectively work towards a world where quality healthcare is accessible to brave young souls fighting cancer. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for your support!
