Child Sexual Abuse is an extremely prevalent issue which seems to be overlooked by our society even though it is a heartbreaking issue Indian children especially, face. Most of our society may know of the fact that child sexual abuse is rampant, however, they have not comprehended the magnitude of this issue. HEAL (Help Eradicate Abuse Through Learning) is a Mumbai-based NGO working in the area of CSA since 2008. HEAL through their awareness and sensitisation workshops on CSA and body safety, which aim to equip adults to recognise and deal with CSA, as well as help the survivors the best they can; and help the children integrate a sense of body safety and autonomy. Every child deserves to feel happy, comfortable and free to walk wherever they like without the constant worry of the possibility of child sexual abuse. The victims of this unfathomably disgusting crime suffer to a degree that we do not recognise. I believe that through HEAL, Child Sexual Abuse can become merely a figment of the past.
