Stephen Hawking, Frida Kahlo, Arunima Sinha, Suresh Advani… Gifted super-achievers or people with disabilities who invoke pity and live a limited life? The society we live in tends to view people with disability as disadvantaged, living a lifetime of limitations. Such a perception leads to a world that imposes boundaries & barriers for people with different needs. What is needed instead is modifications in infrastructure and opportunities in education, employment and even entertainment that enable and facilitate complete inclusion & mainstreaming of disabled people into our society.

This is the core belief and mission of ABBF -- Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation.

We at ABBF provide the opportunity to build a sense of community and go beyond barriers, one event at a time. ABBF believes in the power of play and the ability to create communities through sports. We organise outdoor activities and events where people with and without disabilities can participate and build relationships that break through the stigma and raise awareness about the problem. By fostering these interactions, we create human empathy, propagating a model of change in society.

ABBF has impacted the lives of 15,000 people across the socio-economic spectrum in India. Engaging with corporate partners, philanthropic groups, and significant sporting events such as the Tata Mumbai Marathon - we have pushed the boundaries of inclusivity and provided exposure and employment opportunities to people with disabilities (PwDs). But we need your help to accelerate our progress.

This includes registration, nutrition help, transport, practice runs, running gear, food and accommodation throughout the event.
