Almost 9 years ago I had conducted my first session of safe and unsafe touch in a school in Faridabad, Haryana. I was in a state of shock during those 3 hours as I watched children discuss rape and the absurd reasons behind it. I was also numb post the session, when a 15 year old opened up to me about her father raping her every day. On my way back to Mumbai ,I decided to do my best and ensure that no child gets abused on my watch, ever again. That’s how ‘The Hands Of Hope Foundation’ (THOHF) was born. THOHF fights Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) mainly through the medium of Education and the Visual Arts. Our efforts have had a major impact on the fight against CSA. While we have some very impactful ground projects, our most memorable milestone is a 2017 online photo campaign we pioneered on Male Child Sexual abuse which went on to amend a child rights legislation, making the compensation scheme for victims of sexual abuse, gender neutral. At THOHF, through our many campaigns and programmes, we are doing our best to protect our children from Child Sexual Abuse.
