Vacha Trust's mission is to focus on issues of girls and women from disadvantaged sections through educational and empowerment program, resource creation, training and networking. Vacha mainly works for education and empowerment of girls in 10 - 20 age group from deprived families and living in bastis (slums) in Mumbai.
Vacha has produced quite a lot of resource material in the form of books and publications which cover several issues of gender, poverty, adolescent girls and girlhood. There are quiz books, reports, Poems written by girls, girls’ speakout on menstruation, and books on puzzles and games inspiring women, self-expression of adolescent girls, books on compilation of stories and poems, etc. We also have resources in the form of films, short videos, postcards and posters too.
