MISSION
Salaam Baalak Trust was set up in 1989. It was inspired by the unique spirit of the street children in Mira Nair's acclaimed debut feature film Salaam Bombay!
Salaam Baalak Trust is an integrated programme to provide individual tailor-made plans for the street children, to allow for their optimal, holistic development so that they become responsible, contributing members of society. This is done through our Centres at Chowpatty, Andheri, Kandivali and Malad and our 4 Contact points in Thane district. The programmes cover shelter (Day Care/ Night shelter, Balwadi), Education, Nutrition, Health Care, Life Skills and Vocational Training.
