Appeal

Families come from remote towns and cities across India seeking treatment for their children affected with cancer. While hospitals extend them quality medical services, the poorer families have no place to stay during the 5-12 months (sometimes extending to 24 months) that it takes to complete the treatment. Many end up living on footpaths or are forced to abandon treatment.

Along with a home-like environment for these families, we also address the psychological and social effects of cancer by providing practical support services, nutritional support, educational resources, safe transport to hospitals, and recreational programs.

Access Life set up its first centre in June 2014 in Chembur, Mumbai and has grown to 9 childhood cancer care centres across Mumbai, Pune, Manipal, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and now in Coimbatore where at any given point of time 153 families (459 individuals considering every child lives with her/his parents) are being accommodated.

Through our centres, we have offered holistic support to more than 2200 underprivileged children with cancer from across 13 states since inception.

Our foundation has been encouraged and supported by many CSR's such as Azim Premji Foundation, Commtel Foundation, Harish & Bina Shah Foundation, HDFC Credila, Kotak Securities, Larsen & Toubro, LTIMindree Foundation, Polycab Social Welfare Foundation, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF), Rotary Club Mumbai Queen's Necklace, Safari Industries, United Way of Mumbai & Hyderabad just to name a few. The support received from all our CSR partners has been a huge milestone in our journey, enabling us to serve the needy in our society.
