ADHAR is a pioneering non-profit organization committed to providing lifelong care for adults with intellectual disabilities. Since its inception in 1994, ADHAR has grown to become one of India's largest and most respected institutions for this purpose, operating three centers in Maharashtra- Badlapur, Nashik, and the newly inaugurated Satara branch, which opened on April 17, 2024.
Caring for approximately 340 residents aged 18 to 82; ADHAR offers not only a safe and nurturing environment but also fosters significant community impact by creating over 250 jobs in rural areas, including 84 for women. Additionally, ADHAR supports two other institutions in Solapur and Jalgaon, aiding economically disadvantaged families. Each year, ADHAR directly impacts around 2000 lives across 18 states in India.
Recognized for its excellence, ADHAR was awarded the 'Best Institution in Service to the Disabled' by the Government of India in 2014, with the award presented by then-President Shri Pranab Mukherjee. Through its innovative approach and dedicated service, ADHAR continues to be a leading force in enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities and setting a benchmark in compassionate care.
