Family Planning Association of India (FPA India) founded in 1949, is a national voluntary organization which pioneered the family planning movement in India. We implement wide-ranging programs on sexual and reproductive health and rights, encompassing contraception, safe abortion, maternal, child and adolescent health, sub-fertility, and prevention & management of sexually transmitted & reproductive tract infections, cervical and breast cancer and gender-based violence (GBV). We provide comprehensive sexuality education, quality assured, youth-friendly, rights-based SRH services, life-skills training and gender-transformative empowerment initiatives for the young, marginalized and excluded populations, including tribals, prison-inmates, communities affected by humanitarian crises, persons from diverse population groups including migrants, sex workers, persons of diverse sexual orientation and gender identities (SOGIESC), persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and injecting drug users, to name a few. Our team of over 3,000 volunteers, and 1,000 FPA India staff work through 44 Branches/Projects across 17 states, to reach out to more than 30 million people annually.

Appeal

Cervical cancer is the 2 nd leading cause of cancer deaths in women aged 15 to 44 years in India. The Human Papilloma virua (HPV) is the cause of almost all cases of cervical cancer.
Despite cervical cancer being largely preventable with timely vaccination against HPV and regular screening, many remain unaware of these life-saving measures. The high occurrence of cervical cancer and related deaths in India is attributed to low literacy, poor screening, low awareness, social inequality, stigma, and poverty
FPA India leveraged the TMM 2024 platform to launch an impactful campaign titled, " Race to Erase Cervical Cancer" . We continue this fight against cervical cancer in association with TMM 2025, with renewed urgency and commitment, accelerating our efforts to eradicate cervical cancer in India. Building on last year’s work, we are intensifying our efforts to extend our reach and ensure that more people benefit from essential prevention and treatment services.
With your support, we will:

Raise Awareness: Educate communities about cervical cancer and its preventability.
Promote HPV Vaccination: Reduce vaccine hesitancy, support costs towards buying and provisioning of HPV vaccination.
Enhance Screening: Conduct cervical cancer screenings along with treatment and referrals for continuum of care, as indicated
