Our non-profit serves marginalized urban communities, comprising migrant workers from rural areas seeking employment. These neighbourhoods feature densely populated narrow alleys, inadequate sanitation, and limited access to clean water, perpetuating cycles of poverty.
JA steps into this challenging landscape, bringing hope and transformative support. Our comprehensive programs address the multifaceted needs of these communities providing essential support through
· Education (preschool and learning support),
· Healthcare (medical camps and hospital partnerships), and
· Community outreach (home visits and awareness sessions)
Appeal
Education - Our Hope Learning Centre as the name suggests, brings hope and transformation through care and education. This project reaches nearly 50,000 children living in five disadvantaged socio-economical areas in Thane. Education is our mission but holistic development is our heart. Classes are taught in safe, secure, clean environments where our goal for mental, emotional and physical well-being is prioritized over a child’s academic performance. Our educators intentionally teach using play-way methods to ensure positive learning environments which enhance the chances of students developing a love for learning. Fresh, nutritious meals are provided daily because we focus on and value our students’ Holistic development.
Health - In recognizing the high percentage of health challenges people face in underserved communities, Jeevan Asha conducts Testing Camps in various locations. These Camps are free, run by qualified doctors, nurses, paramedics and healthcare workers and designed to increase access to quality services and healthcare.
