| Project Description | BRIDGE SCHOOL: Since 2014, TOUCH has started Bridge school project. This is School Readiness Program by providing non-formal education for street children. A well-equipped bus goes to various centers where street children are not going to school. Today, we are running this project for around 750 street children who are born in families with no shelter and livelihood; living either on streets, under flyovers or foot-over bridges of railways-life which are hostile conditions for children. The basic right of education is denied to them. Without education these children are directionless and ultimately lose to the ugly and dark world. Through TOUCH Bridge School these children are exposed to the only salvation – Education. Games, songs, plays, stories, modern audio-visual means etc. Methods are employed to attract and engage these children in to the stream of gaining knowledge. Children are provided daily nutritional supplements during these sessions. Regular health check-ups and preventive health care interventions are provided to these children for their overall development. | |||||||||

| Impact | With a Vision to have Happy Empowered Children, TOUCH reaches out to children between the ages of 4 to 17 years. Incomplete education is half backed freedom, dreaming of completing formal education while living on streets is a distant reality for street children. TOUCH Balgram is present in village: Vihigaon, Tal- Shahapur, Dist- Thane, Balgram is an extension of the Bridge School to embrace these children in formal education. On Conducting a multi-layered Impact Assessment for FY2024, the following impacts were observed: Good attendance score in Bridge School. Children joined Balgram and attend local school to continue education. Good hygiene, good dietary habits, values were imbibed by the children. Nutrition improved substantially. | |||||||||

Children staying in Balgram (58 children) are motivated to pursue formal education in a homely atmosphere. They are provided with all facilities. Housemothers along with qualified teachers are responsible for providing care to the children. These children attend a formal school along with the local school-going children. Funds Received from TMM have been used to conduct exposure activities and build 10 Sadans at Balgram, to build Goshala and Sport academy for promotion of sports in Rural tribal children & for youth Empowerment through Skill training in tribal areas | |||||||||||||||
| Impact | With a mission to MIDAS TOUCH IS a child education sponsorship program which works on three guardian principle. Is supporting education of 4000 plus children in various locations mainly in rural areas. In various districts of Maharashtra (Marathwada, Konkan, Vidharbha, Belgaum) and in various other States (West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Assam). TOUCH is committed to effecting social and economic transformation through the powerful tool of education. On Conducting a multi-layered Impact Assessment for FY2023, the following impacts were observed: Good attendance score in Bridge School and Children staying in Balgram. Continuation of Education- 100% girls continued education. Acquisition of basic Computer skills. Children’s sensitisation Sports and nutrition improved substantially.
