Pratham is a leading non-governmental organization in India dedicated to improving quality and equity in education, particularly for children from underserved communities. Established with a focus on foundational learning, Pratham implements evidence-based programs across early childhood, primary, and upper-primary levels to ensure that every child attains essential literacy and numeracy skills. Its interventions combine classroom support, teacher training, community engagement, and innovative learning approaches such as activity-based and experiential learning.
In recent years, Pratham has expanded into secondary education and STEM learning, bridging gaps in science, technology, and critical thinking skills for adolescents. Programs like Summer Camps, remedial classes, and digital learning initiatives are designed to reduce learning loss, improve retention, and foster curiosity. By partnering with state governments, local communities, and volunteers, Pratham creates scalable and sustainable education solutions that strengthen school systems, enhance teacher capacity, and empower children to succeed academically and socially.
