Subhiksha Voluntary Organization was registered on 8th October 2009 with a desire and passion to bring a change in the lives of children with special needs. We work with special children, and adolescents with special conditions such as Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Disabilities and Hearing impaired. We provide Special Education, Therapeutic Services and Vocational Training to differently abled children from marginalized communities through formal schooling in a barrier-free environment. Our primary focus is to support Special Children by enrolling them in Open Basic Education of the National Institute of Open Schooling and helping them to become self-reliant through life skills building and therapeutic interventions.

Appeal

Our project aims to provide intensive therapies free of cost for intellectual disabilities children whom we have identified from poor backgrounds with uneducated parents. The children will be assessed by a child neurologist and therapist for clear identification of their difficulties and plan targeted therapy. This would enable the understanding and application of learning principles. As a Nonprofit Special School committed to recognizing talent and skills among special needs students we place the greatest emphasis on personalised instruction. Coupled with the great level of attention, care and support in a safe and secure environment will contribute to making them feel independent to live a full life in the society. We strive to identify such gems so that they can make a positive difference in our world.
Subhiksha Special School will provide the necessary space for the children and therapist for the project. We need Special Educators, Physiotherapist, Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Vocational Trainers. We also need to arrange transport and food for them. This is the first project of this kind to empower Intellectual Disabilities children giving an enormous boost to their confidence.
