Tapasya, a non-profit charitable organisation, that is committed to building a world class palliative hospice/care centre for terminally ill cancer patients in Mangaluru. Nearly 600,000 cancer patients are declared terminally ill in India every year. These patients need special palliative care as it is challenging for family members to take care of them at home. Paediatric Palliative Care (PPC) prevents, identifies, and treats suffering in patients with life-threatening conditions. It is appropriate at any stage of the illness and can be provided together with disease-directed treatment.
Tapasya has begun building a 50,000 sq.ft. hospice with both natural and modern facilities to take care of patients of all ages irrespective of caste, creed, and gender. Mobile home care palliative services give comfort to both patient and family members. training provided to family members to handle the situations more professionally. A special ward for paediatric patients is also being created. All the services are completely free for the patients.
