About Ek Saath – The Earth Foundation

Founded in 2020 by Pragya Kapoor, Ek Saath – The Earth Foundation is a Mumbai-based non-profit working towards sustainable environmental action and community development. Our mission is to bring people together "Ek Saath" to create cleaner, greener, and more conscious communities.

Our key areas of intervention include:

Cleanup Drives: Organizing regular beach, slum, and heritage site cleanups to reduce waste and restore natural spaces.

Waste Management: Setting up segregation and recycling systems in underserved communities and tourist areas like Elephanta Island.

Sustainability Projects: Promoting eco-friendly practices through awareness campaigns, upcycling initiatives, and green infrastructure planning.

Community Engagement: Working closely with local communities, schools, and volunteers to drive behavior change and create long-term impact.

Animal Welfare & Hygiene: Supporting stray animal welfare and menstrual hygiene management through collaborative efforts with partner organizations.

At Ek Saath, we believe that small steps taken together can lead to lasting change.

Appeal

Key Projects which we are working on include:

Swachh Kokari, Sundar Kokari
Objective: Transform Kokari, a slum settlement in Wadala, into a zero-waste community.
Impact: Prevents waste from entering the ocean, improving living conditions and reducing landfill contributions. Work on improving the health conditions of the local community by regular health check-ups, menstrual hygiene workshops for the women and encouraging to keep the surroundings clean.

Gharapuri Elephanta Manthan (GEM) Project
Objective: Implement sustainable waste management on Elephanta Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to protect its ecosystem.
Impact: Enhances the island's natural beauty and safeguards its cultural heritage through comprehensive environmental initiatives.

Carter Cleanup
Objective: Reduce plastic pollution on Mumbai’s Carter Road Beach and surrounding areas.
Impact: Over 60,000 kgs of waste removed, involving community participation in regular cleanups.
We have worked with over 75 corporates and/or institutions in our mission to develop an eco-friendly environment by addressing key issues such as urban and rural tree plantation and plastic pollution.
