Lok Seva Founded in 1976, Lok Seva Sangam has been working passionately towards better healthcare, focusing on control of Leprosy and Tuberculosis, while providing free education and access to learning centers to the underprivileged and marginalized section of the society. t LSS we run four major programs to address crucial issues:

Pre-primary Education:
We have 3 Pre-primary centres, all are English medium and ensure all kids have access to quality and equitable education.
Additionally, we offer free, highly nutritious, and complete mid-day meals to every child in our program

Leprosy Eradication:
Mobile Dermatological Clinics provide on-site diagnosis in slums and hotspot areas.
4 Leprosy Referral Centres inside government health centres offer specialised care.
Paramedical workers conduct door-to-door surveys for early detection.
Strengthening partnerships with government staff and training Community Health Volunteers and ASHA workers is essential.

Tuberculosis Treatment Support:
Fortnightly visits by social workers for medicine count and support.
Nutritional support for patients with low BMI (<15).
Education and counselling to address treatment misconceptions.

Family Development Programme:
Family Development Workers establish connections through home visits for 6 months.
Awareness Meetings address specific community needs.
The Guidance Centre offers confidential counselling and referrals for specialised support services.

Slum children in Mumbai face immense challenges, including overcrowded living conditions, poor access to healthcare, and limited educational opportunities. Lok Seva Sangam has identified many children who are at risk, such as those exposed to gambling, living in unhygienic environments, or coming from families of rag pickers, daily wage earners, migrant workers, and relatives of leprosy patients. Many of these children are first-generation learners or have dropped out of school.

Your donations will help sustain our three pre-primary education centers, providing quality early childhood education, nutritious mid-day meals, and a safe space for these children to learn and grow.
