Centre for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA) is a youth-led voluntary organization, established in 1999, with a mission to empower young people (ages 13 to 29) as agents of social change. Registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860, CYDA has a presence across nine states in India. The organization focuses on youth empowerment, skilling, gender equality, rural development, and adolescent growth, while advocating for policies that support the needs of young people.

CYDA’s vision is to nurture responsible, independent citizens who contribute to nation-building. Over the years, CYDA has reached 10 million people through its interventions and has made significant impacts, such as training 200,000 adolescents on life skills and 50,000 youth on soft skills. CYDA has also provided WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) improvements in schools, communities, and health facilities, and supported micro-businesses through seed capital. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, CYDA vaccinated 500,000 people and helped 400 women start micro-businesses.

Collaborating with organizations like UNICEF, HDFC Parivartan, and Deloitte, CYDA is committed to driving social change through gender equity, human rights, and youth participation, and continues to work towards creating inclusive and sustainable development for future generations.

Appeal

We are seeking your support to upgrade three of our Youth Resource Centres (YRCs) in Yerwada, Hadapsar, and Ramtekdi, Pune, which are pivotal in the development of over 2,000 adolescents and youth. These centers offer a range of activities such as remedial education, career guidance, digital literacy, sports, mental health support, and leadership development. To ensure that our youth receive the best opportunities, we aim to enhance the digital infrastructure by providing laptops and computers for digital literacy. Additionally, we plan to set up STEM labs to inspire slum youth, particularly young girls, to pursue careers in science, engineering, robotics, and AI.

We also engage youth through sports, music, and arts, and require materials such as footballs, chess sets, guitars, and martial arts kits to facilitate these activities.
Furthermore, we seek scholarships for 50 bright students who face financial challenges in completing their education. With your contribution, students pursuing science and technical education will receive scholarships ranging from ?20,000 to ?40,000, while those studying arts and commerce will receive between ?5,000 and ?10,000.
