KARO Trust is a charitable organization that supports Bravehearts from lower-income groups, primarily teenagers and young adults, in their fight against cancer. Focused on ensuring that no patient has to abandon treatment due to financial constraints, KARO provides essential financial aid and holistic support services to deserving individuals.
In addition to monetary assistance for cancer treatment, the Trust offers free-of-cost accommodation through KARO Homes, where patients can stay in a safe and hygienic environment during their medical journey. Recognizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to care, KARO also extends nutritional counselling to help patients maintain their health during treatment and provides educational support to ensure that young patients don't fall behind academically.
Founded in memory of Karan Malhotra, who lost his battle with Ewing Sarcoma, KARO Trust remains committed to fulfilling his vision: helping cancer patients, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, access the resources they need to complete their treatment with dignity.
Appeal
Any and all donations to KARO go towards proving financial and accommodation support to cancer patients. Funding of our bravehearts treatments will ensure that they do not abort their treatment due to shortage of resources and can go back to their everyday lives. One of the main reasons besides shortage of funds, for aborting cancer treatment is lack of accommodation facilities. Many cancer patients from lower income backgrounds are forced to reside on the pavements and set up temporary dwellings which are unhygienic and at the same time counterproductive to their respective treatments as they can pick up infections which can lead to fatal consequences. Our free of cost accommodation project KARO HOME provides a safe haven to our bravehearts so that they need not worry about safety, hygiene and rent for their duration of stay in Mumbai and allows them to focus solely on their respective treatments and recovery.
