A passionate walker / runner since 2005 with 5 full marathons, more than 35 half marathons, am attempting the TMM Full Marathon 2024. My journey from first diagnosis of cancer, through surgery, treatment, and recovery, was an eye opening experience. My pledge is to dedicate my free time and every run post 2017 to spread awareness about early detection and cure of cancer and raise funds for cancer research and patient care. I am lucky, (and grateful ) to have got access to the best possible treatment, and to be blessed with strong support from family , friends, and colleagues at work. I was back to walking a few kms each day, 2 months post my surgery and to running, 8 months post my surgery. Please join me in raising funds on behalf of NGOs (via United Way ) who are helping patients in fighting cancer. One such NGO is Cuddles (which I am supporting this year) who is focussing on providing right nutrition to children fighting cancer and prevent their drop out of treatment. In case of children , chances of cure are very high if they stick to the treatment regime , but many drop out due to mal-nourishment. Nutrition is vital for patients undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. As I take each of the required 50k steps to complete this full marathon, please cheer and support me.
