Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024

Tata Memorial Centre, Parel-Mumbai, needs little or no introduction in the field of cancer research and treatment. It stands out a s a beacon of hope to countless patients from across the country and beyond, irrespective of their socioeconomic status. TMC is backed and funded by the Government and the Tata Group. At TMC, the Tata Group has taken philanthropy to another level, having been associated with cancer, with the passing away of Lady Meherbai Tata to Leukemia in 1931. Cancer treatment can drain the energies-especially financially-of any family. Many of the patients come from far flung corners of India and find it difficult to support their treatment without adequate financial support. The hospital does offer highly subsidized treatment plans and medicines, yet the sheer volume of cases creates a strain. It thus appeals to the generosity of the general public. Any donation to TMC, big or small, will go a long way in alleviating the financial burden of the patients. I'm participating in the 1.3kms "Champions with Disability" category to raise funds for the Pediatric Ward of TMC, Mumbai. Please donate to my cause. Thanks! P.S. Do read my Introduction below :)

About Me
Hi, I am Sophia Rodrigues, a mom to a 9yo, former trainer/teacher, passionate crafter and a Cancer warrior. In 2019, I was diagnosed with Monophasic Synovial Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer. I've been through 2 surgeries, 30 sessions of Radiation, 30 doses of Chemo infusions, 283 days of oral chemo pills, countless scans, tests, etc and a pair of badly compromised lungs from metastatic cancer growth. I choose to fight cancer on 2 levels: -To teach my son the value of faith and courage, even in the face of cancer - For the little children, whose childhoods are cruelly interrupted by cancer.
