As Lockdown 4.0 begins, the total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in India is 1.25 Lakh according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health. Our heart goes out to the millions of families in the country who still lack the essential items required for survival amidst the national lockdown. Habitat for Humanity India is supporting families and individuals living in vulnerable conditions with no safety net by providing them with essential goods and hygiene items. There are daily wage labourers, slum dwellers, people living in slums and other distressed communities who need your help. Habitat India is planning multi-phase programs focusing on the destination and source of the migration. Proposed beneficiaries, their vulnerabilities and suggested interventions are in line with the three phased Pathways to Permanence strategy developed by Habitat India. As the country implements unprecedented measures amidst the global health emergency, they are supporting families and individuals by providing them with family essential kits and hygiene kits. To practice caution, Habitat for Humanity India is not deploying their staff on ground but is working in partnership with state governments, local government administrations or government agencies.
