THE NEED

We recognize the pivotal role monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plays in driving social change. A well defined Theory of Change and a Logical Framework can significantly amplify effectiveness of implementation and guide strategy for the future. Evolving regulatory amendments to the CSR Act, have also lent momentum to M&E practices. Yet, many organisations grapple with challenges in adopting robust evaluation techniques. United Way Mumbai partners with other non profits, companies and social impact practitioners to build M&E systems, assess impact of their programmes and conduct social audits.

SOLUTION

The M&E and impact assessment solution proposed by UWM includes:

Need Assessment, scoping study or baseline to facilitate effective intervention design, deeper understanding of the context and customise programmes.

Impact Assessment, midline &/or endline to measure the real impact of interventions, track progress over time, and support informed decision making based on rigorous evaluation.

Data Analysis, visualisation, and dissemination of the results to draw comprehensive insights presented in visually compelling formats for easy access and action by the stakeholders.
Action research to address real-world challenges, generating practical solutions and valuable insights by actively engaging stakeholders.

Diagnostic study to assess specific issues or challenges, providing a detailed understanding of the underlying causes and potential remedies.

Secondary research to analyse existing data and literature for an informed decision-making and a solid knowledge base.

Longitudinal Study to track changes and developments over an extended period, allowing for a deeper understanding of trends and impacts.

Ethnographic study to unravel insights for more context-sensitive interventions.

Case study development that showcase successful projects or initiatives, offering valuable lessons and best practices
Preparing Theory of Change & Logical Framework Approach to provide a clear roadmap of how interventions lead to desired outcomes and impact.

Ethical M&E planning to ensure that data collection and evaluation processes adhere to ethical principles and standards.

Setting up Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems, tailored to track progress and measure impact effectively.

Capacity building to equip teams with the necessary skills and knowledge for proficient M&E implementation
