In 2007, the Government of India conducted the largest study on the subject of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). The results are terrifying – more than 53% of the 12500 children surveyed had experienced child sexual abuse. Assuming that this sample is representative of a larger trend, this means close to 250 million children in India have experienced some form of sexual abuse.
94.5% of perpetrators are known to the victim (NCRB, 2015) with a lot of cases happening where the child resides. This statistic is worrisome in the current times because the lockdowns due to COVID-19 have left children often locked in with their perpetrators. Further there has been a clear and sadly unsurprising rise in consumption of child sexual abuse material online in India.
Our vision is to have a child sexual abuse-free society for happier and safer children and we need the support of various individuals and organizations in achieving our goals and fighting this issue at large.
Almost 80% of our funds are utilized for our programmes (Programme conduction, training, mental health support, research, management etc.)
The remaining 20% will be utilized for various overheads (Audit, electricity, rent, etc.)
