Livelihood Asset Distribution Program Enhances Opportunities for Saksham Beneficiaries

On 8th November 2023, 88 goats were distributed to 44 of our Saksham beneficiaries in Gudhvanwadi, Borivali Gram Panchayat. The Saksham livelihood asset distribution program was graced by the presence of the Gudhvanwadi Sarpanch Mrs Vrushali Shirsagar, Assistant Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dr. Baradkar, Livestock Development Officers, Dr. Milind Jadhav and Dr. Shahshikant Thorat, and Veterinarian assistant, Dr. Lengre. Saksham- Karjat, 13 of our Saksham beneficiaries pursuing goat enterprise were trained on quality check of a goat, construction of goat night shelter, and first aid for ailments in goats. Additionally, 4 beneficiaries who were selected to take up the role of a Village Livestock Facilitator (VLF) were trained on temperature checking and administration of oral medicines. Saksham beneficiaries were supported with industrial-grade tailoring machines and fall-beading machines. These beneficiaries belong to a village called Rajape of Tembhare Panchayat which sits on a hillock. The Saksham kit distribution was graced by Tembhare Panchayat's Sarpanch and Village Development Officer and the Livestock Officer from the Department of Animal Husbandry.
