About Me
I started fundraising for NGOs 14 years ago when I participated in the 10K run in Bangalore. In addition to supporting few non-profits mainly in the areas of Education and I have also been fundraising for organisations in the areas of Disability, Women Empowerment and Health. Knowing the NGO team personally, I feel motivated to support them through this online platform. Raising funds for these NGOs has been a great inspiration for me to run the marathon.
I am happy to share that with your support, I have raised a total of over Rs. 50 Lacs since 2018, (incl. Rs. 20 Lacs in 2024) and became a "Change Leader" in this platform.
I look forward to achieving this year's target and complete my marathon with my personal best.
Appeal
In my sixth Tata Mumbai Marathon, I wish to fund raise for 3 NGOs through United Way Mumbai platform in the areas of disability, education and women empowerment in memory of my father, 1st generation graduate (CA) in the family. I am targeting to raise at least Rs.15,00,000. Every Re.1 contribution by you turns into Rs.3 for the NGO concerned with the matching contributions from me and from my organisation, Chiratae Ventures.
Please donate generously to these non-profits.
1. Amar Seva Sangam has been carrying out Rehabilitation, Education, Skill development and Employment of physically challenged through institution based and village-based initiatives since 1981. They provide inclusive education through Siva Saraswathy Vidyalaya in their Ayikudy Campus, Tamilnadu from Nursery till 12th where more than 700 children including 250 children with disabilities are given quality education at affordable cost considering the rural and economic background.
2. Srujna Charitable Trust in Mumbai helps create livelihood opportunities for the stifled women in low-income communities across India since 2011 by helping them create powerful, enterprising women that produce and sell hand made products. Together they empower them to become role models and changemakers in their families and communities. Totally 100,000+ women have been impacted with 81,000+ under financial literacy. Their average income is Rs. 6000 per woman. Srujna's Maitree project engages women from low-income communities to make reusable, odour free, bacteria free sanitary napkins which can be washed in a glass of water. These napkins are designed and treated with patent technology and are distributed to rural and tribal women free of cost. 10,000 kits have been distributed to 37,500 women and it has given income to 500+ women. They also conduct menstrual hygiene awareness programs for women in the community.
3. Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI) started in 1968, has been providing an engaged and secure life for People with Different Abilities (PDAs) in Mumbai, Bhopal and Lucknow. Their special school provides educational support, skill development to children (17 years and below) and vocational training workshops, daily living & recreational activities for adults afflicted with Cerebral Palsy and multiple disabilities with a fully-fledged therapy unit. About 250+ PDAs benefit from this support. The students also receive free bus services and mid day meals at their centres. They conduct free orthopedic and health check-up camps for their beneficiaries and other school PDAs, along with the distribution of health accessories. The funds or donations raised by donors will be used to strengthen operations of the school, benefit the therapy unit for advanced functioning and improved therapeutic approach for PDAs. They strive to break down obstacles and create an inclusive environment where PDAs can lead fulfilling lives and contribute to society.
