About Me

'Pay it Forward' this has been a grounding principle my entire life. Each of us have received innumerable benefits and blessings from others. While we can go back and thank and regard them, we can also pass on their blessings to the next person by paying it forward, and create a virtuous cycle of change. I have been running to raise funds for the cause of women empowerment every year.. While that will remain a priority this year i have donned the hat of IT head ( my CIO/CDO role) and has taken up the cause of Computer Literacy & Education of Children. for India to be a world leader we need all our childeren to be computer literate and ever school should have Computer Shiksha as a part of their curriculum. I hope that my association with computer shiksha will make a difference.

Appeal

India is in cusp of greatness. It can be a TOP 3 countries in the word in a decade from now. In that dynamic and Viksith Bharat IT will continue to play a huge role not only as a Industry but as a catalyst for all industries.
Such giant strides by India is contingent on a solid foundation of Education. Technology like AI, Big Data and Virtual and Augmented reality will be a reality. These will be easy to conquer if IT skills are taught to every child in this country. It will be like training our young how to fish in the technological Ocean of times to come.

I donned my IT hat to see how we can enable this magical and inspiring Journey of computer education. To my delight I found Computer Shiksha (CS) which is doing exactly that. The CS Magic box creates the building box of Computer Education and a laddered approach in 3 years while pursuing regular school education. You can go from a novice to initiated to practitioner in terms of foundational computer literacy, ready to discover the magical world that lies ahead. Many Schools ask for a Computer room to be created so that students can practice what they learn. CS calls it Computer lab.

CS vision is to bridge the digital divide between the haves’ and have nots’ with technology.
CS mission is to build an ecosystem for providing Computer Knowledge and Training with passion and commitment, to deliver value in the form of Computer trained people, who use this skill for the betterment of their lives in every possible way.

They have embarked on a Project 2047 to make every child in school a computer literate before 2047. This would mean 15 lakh schools or about 25 crore children (amongst 40 crore school going children) must be enabled with Computer Shiksha (CS) program. Their computer literacy services have already reached about 2200 + schools in 320 districts (including 63 aspirational districts) across 28 states and 3 UTs.

We recognise that we need to have a low cost model for this to be taken across the corners of India. It takes only 20,000 to have a magic box in a school and ensure it embarks in the IT Journey.
