About Me

My name is Nihal Swadi and I go to Ascend International School. I am 15 years old and I am running the 10k in the Tata Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for a cause that is close to my heart. The NGO I have chosen to raise funds for is Vipla Foundation. The foundation's initiatives include early intervention programs for children with hearing and speech impairments, remedial education for primary students.

Appeal

Over these last couple of years, my mother has struggled with hereditary severe hearing problems. I’ve seen first hand how isolating and challenging it can be and really how much tougher it makes her life being unable to simply converse with the people beside her. Everything changed when she got hearing aids. They didn’t just improve her hearing, they transformed her entire life. Watching her reconnect with her loved ones and gain back her happiness inspired me to help children who face similar struggles.
That’s why I’m raising funds to provide hearing aids for children in need. Since these hearing aids are extremely technologically advanced they are quite expensive and can be unaffordable to many of the families in need.
The price begins at an average of 1 lakh a pair I would like to support 4-5 children's needs. I believe every child deserves the gift of sound and the opportunities it poses.
To make this dream a reality, I’m running the 10k in the Tata Marathon and hoping to support this cause by raising money. Every single donation big or small is much appreciated.
Together, we can help these kids hear, thrive, and fully embrace life.
