Appeal

KRUPA PROJECT has been working hard with great commitment over the last 25 plus years, to give joy to the destitute Elderly ladies, in the sunset years of their lives. Our project leader found that there were destitute elderly ladies living in the society, who were rejected by their families & living in desperate conditions. She opened her home for a couple of them & cared for them. Looking at the huge need a premise was taken on rental basis in order to provide a life of dignity to these rejected elderlies.

Throughout the years Krupa has been a home where nearly 60 elderlies have received much joy in the sunset years of their life. Krupa home has been functioning in rented premises, where the elderly receive good nutritious food, good medical care, regular medical check up by a visiting doctor. Full time staff rally around caring for them round the clock. Aim has been to maintain a home atmosphere & not a hospital or institution. So the max upper limit has been kept between 12 to 15 elderly at any given time depending on the size of the premises.

Every single elderly coming to Krupa home has a story. Some of outright neglect and rejection by kith and kin, some emotionally neglected while their physical presence was tolerated. Some in the natural process of life are found without any known relative, abandoned at the road side or at the railway station. At Krupa each one is experiencing some joy and security. It is not easy to make life very interesting, however simple games of carom and snakes and ladders are enjoyed by some. Everyone enjoys an occasional picnic or visit to the gardens, birthday and celebrations.

Yes! Eyes may be dim, hearing maybe dull but…all of them can sense the atmosphere of love and care.

Mission Statement :
Krupa Project’s mission is to provide a life of dignity & much joy to the destitute elderly ladies in the sunset years of their lives.

Our Stand :
We believe that the primary responsibility to look after the elderlies is of their family members. So we try our best to discourage people from putting their elderlies in the home. Allowing only some exceptions where the children are away due to work and genuinely cant care for them.
