About Me

I've been associated with this trust for the last 30+ years and am committed to helping underprivileged people across our nation to live with dignity, be empowered and for them to have the joy to transform other lives near them.
I am involved educating underprivileged with my wife right from Goa in 90’s & then in 2003 Dharavi Mumbai’s biggest slum and journey continues ….
Three years ago, the Pragati Project was born. Again, it’s an initiative of a few like-minded people coming together to make a difference to the underprivileged children in and around Mira Bhayandar district. below mentioned some of our work photos doing across five schools reaching 1000+ students.

Our vision is “Educating today for a better tomorrow “

Aim is to partner with the society to facilitate and sustain a conducive environment for the development of socio-economically deprived sections of society. Our special emphasis is on imparting education, empowerment skill development, value inculcation and provision of low-cost health care facilities and sanitation services. We envision the poor growing in character and stature, regardless of their economic, cultural and racial backgrounds.

Appeal

Pragati Education Project- It’s an initiative of a few like-minded people coming together to make a difference to the underprivileged children in and around Borivali and Mira Bhyander district.

Our vision is to provide quality education that empowers the underprivileged and nurture responsible citizens. “Educating today for a better tomorrow “

We launched the Pragati Education Project in Dec 2021 in a government aided Marathi medium school of 160 students. When we set out, we had zero funds, over the days we received funds from a company and few others Individual donors supported along the way.

When we assessed the students, we saw the need to teach them to read and spell using phonics. We were able to teach songs in English about being thankful, good manners etc. Pragati provided the Readers, books for writing, workbooks and stationery for each student.

The children are learning to use their reading and thinking skills to match the words to the pictures, match the rhyming words and circle the words as the teacher calls. They like these activities with words and pictures which they get to color.
Teachers are helping the weaker students and giving them individual attention. It is good to see these students work hard and catch up with the other students.

It has been a laborious but a very fulfilling years for us at Pragati and the students' appetite for learning motivates us to keep going. We have all together 5 teachers now in the Pragati, and we have been teaching in a total of 5 schools in and around Mira Road, Bhayander& Borivali impacting over 1000 underprivileged students.

Assistant Commissioner of Education for Mira Bhayander has requested us to replicate our teaching model in 36 schools. We request you to join hands with us and support us so we can educate many more children in English for better tomorrow.
