About Me

I have always been passionate about making a career out of serving those in need, a desire I’ve had since childhood. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor's in Social Work, followed by a Master's in Social Work with a specialization in Disability Studies & Action. Throughout my learning journey, I have had the privilege of working and engaging with individuals from various communities and marginalities, including advocating for girl child education, addressing child labor, supporting distressed women with mental health challenges, assisting cancer patients, and working with the visually impaired. Social causes have been at the heart of my academic and adult life, and I am committed to continuing this path. Running the Tata Marathon for the organization I work with, Jai Vakeel, is a dream I am eager to pursue as part of my ongoing dedication to social causes.

Appeal

My name is Tanishka Thokle, I am working with this organisation called Jai Vakeel Foundation. The Jai Vakeel Foundation has been a source of inspiration for me. Our work is focused on catering to children & individuals with Intellectual Disabilities from ages 3 to 50 years. As I lace up my shoes for the Tata Mumbai Marathon, I do so knowing that every mile I run is not just a personal challenge, but a commitment to our cause. This is a chance to raise awareness and funds for those who may not have the same opportunities, but who deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

Running this marathon isn't just about crossing the finish line – it’s about running for inclusion, for empowerment, and for the future of those we serve. Through your generous support, we can continue to provide life-changing services and create a more inclusive society for everyone. I’m running for Jai Vakeel Foundation because I believe in a world where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the chance to thrive.
