About Me

In 2018, the Sant Claret Anath Ashram was born from a deep sense of compassion and a pressing need I could no longer ignore. For years, I had felt a calling to help destitute individuals living on the streets, often taking them to homes where they could be cared for. But one life-changing experience shaped my journey and gave rise to the Ashram we have today.

During my years of working with the homeless, I spent three years living on the streets of Mumbai, immersing myself in their struggles to understand their pain. One day, I came across a man in the slums—bedridden, unable to move, and in desperate need of care. I went door to door, pleading with homes and institutions to take him in, but every door remained closed. With no other choice, I returned him to the same street corner I had found him.

A few days later, I learned he had passed away.

The thought of his suffering and death still haunts me. I realized that it wasn’t enough to try to find homes for the homeless—I needed to create one myself. A place where the most neglected members of society could experience dignity, care, and love, even in their final days.

With the help of kind-hearted benefactors, we established Sant Claret Anath Ashram in 2018. What started with just two residents has now grown into a sanctuary for 175 individuals, including the elderly, cancer patients, the mentally ill, and those battling chronic illnesses like tuberculosis.

But the journey is not without challenges.

Every day, we work to provide food, medical care, and a clean, loving environment for our residents. We strive to give them not just basic necessities, but also the dignity and peace they deserve in their last stages of life.

And now, I need your help.

This mission is bigger than me, bigger than any one person. To sustain the Ashram and meet the growing needs of our 175 residents, we urgently need your support.

? Your generous donation can help us provide:

Nutritious meals to sustain their health.
Essential medicines and medical care.
A safe, clean, and comforting environment.
Every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can ensure that no one dies on the streets, abandoned and forgotten. Instead, they can experience the dignity and care every human being deserves.

Thank you for standing with us and being a beacon of hope for the neediest members of our society. Let’s make the world a better place, one life at a time.

Appeal

I am Fr. Robin Abraham, founder of the St. Claret Mercy Foundation, writing on behalf of Sant Claret Anath Ashram. Our Ashram provides compassionate care for individuals who are mentally ill, bedridden, or in need of palliative care. Known as the Home for Dying Destitutes, we primarily care for those in the final stages of life.

Currently, we are providing care to 175 residents, including elderly individuals, cancer patients, and those suffering from tuberculosis. As the number of residents continues to rise, the demand for resources has increased dramatically. We face significant challenges in meeting the basic needs of our residents, such as hygiene, medical care, and nutrition, due to limited resources.

To continue offering these essential services and ensure the dignity and well-being of those who depend on us, we urgently need your support. Your generous contribution will help us maintain the care and compassion we strive to provide every day.

We humbly ask for your consideration and assistance in supporting our Ashram. Your help will make a profound difference in the lives of those we care for during their final days.
