About Me

Nisha Gajanan Ambekar (before marriage - Vaijayanta Kulkarni) is a Tax Consultant by profession. She did her MCom, MBA(Fin), GDC&A. She loves sports right from her schooling days. Then, she had won medals in district, state, university and inter-university level athletics. Games like 100m, 200m, 400m running, discus throw, shot put, hammer throw and power lifting were her areas of participation. However, due to lack of funds despite being selected for internationals in lifting, she could not participate. While still in college she achieved NCC Karun "C" certificate. She was trained in scuba diving through NCC and that was the happiest moment as she became the third woman in India, second in Maharashtra and first in Ratnagiri district to achieve this feat.

Post marriage she changed her field, and started working as tax consultant and govt auditor and has been working for last 18 years. Nisha Ambekar is very courageous and completes any task with dedication. In order to enhance the rescue work in flood-like situations, under the disaster management training, the municipality trained her to operate a mechanized boat in the Vashishthi river. Nisha Ambekar successfully completed the distance by piloting a mechanical boat. She is currently part of Disaster Management Team in the Ratnagiri district.

She received “Swayamsiddha Kartutvavaan Mahila” Award from The Fresh News for her participation in overcoming challenging situations. Satara Sansthan awarded Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar and the Mahila Mandal, Vadnaka, Chiplun conferred on her the Kartutvavaan Mahila Award for her remarkable achievements. Chiplun Doctors Association too awarded “Mahila Samman Award”. She received "State Level Kartutvavaan Mahila Nariratna Award 2024" on the Women's Day in Mar-24.

She has shown that she is no less in her professional work by bagging the award of "Best Auditor" in the State Conference of Auditors last year, only the second from Konkan Division and first from Ratnagiri District.

Now after 22 long years she has resumed cycling and sports for fitness. Last year she participated in the state level Khelo Masters tournament held at Shirdi for seniors above 40 years of age. From there, she is back in medals’ winning streak at state and national levels. She has completed 10-km marathon recently. In Feb-24 this year, she cycled 200, 300, 400, and 600 kms, earning the title of "Super Randonnuer", which is a prestigious feat in cycling world.

Apart from this, she is active in social work. She visits various institutions, participates in charity, and also caring poor children by adopting them for their education. Amongst others she is part of Samskrita Bharati, Krida Bharati teams.

Appeal

In a very short span of time, I have personally got opportunity to explore the working practices of Samskrita Bharati. The organization has been marching with the goal to make Samskrit popular all across the mankind as a language of conversation. Samskrit, Samskriti and Sanskar are the three connected words, not just for name sake but in practical life, which are aptly necessary for every indvidual.

As a basicactivity that Samskrita Bharati does is to run its courses regularly with the strength of like-minded people from different backgrounds; ready to devote time for, ready to learn & let learn the language, which is still relevant, ideal, and apt for betterment of mankind. This is done without any expectation of earning any financial gains. So, Samskrita Bharati needs funds to develop infrastructure, conduct trainings, take its courses to deprived sections in society, travel to different places and make the teaching aids available.

I appeal one and all to come forward and contribute for increasing the outreach of Samskrita Bharati. Through sports we can achieve many things. As a sportman and Samskrit lover, I am happy to champion the combined goal of both of my hobbies
