Sometimes we know our purpose and sometimes we keep seeking for it. I am Bijal Parikh an architect from Mumbai trying in my little ways to make the world a better place for all living beings in the present and future.

Cancer is a relentless journey, not just for the person fighting it, but for their loved ones as well. It feels like a silent storm—sudden, unplanned, altering the lives it touches. Families bear witness to a loved one’s pain and vulnerability, often feeling helpless, yet finding ways to be strong. For the person with cancer, it’s a battle not only of the body but of the spirit. They face moments of fear and courage, hope and despair. For everyone, cancer brings a profound shift in perspective, a quiet reminder of life’s fragility and the unbreakable strength in connection… I wanted to run the TMM 2025 half marathon but the registration were closed. And then I found a way through Unitedwaymumbai. So I read about them and the work they do. I was quite touched and decided to participate . Supporting United Way Mumbai in their work with children battling cancer is deeply meaningful to me. These children, so young and innocent, are facing unimaginable struggles. In them, I see resilience and courage that inspires, yet they need more than just hope—they need resources, support, and care. United Way Mumbai not only provides medical help but also uplifts these children emotionally and academically, giving them a chance to experience life beyond hospital walls. By supporting this cause, I feel I’m standing with them, helping to build a future where their dreams and laughter can flourish once again.
