About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineer by profession and now a progressive farmer by choice. My roots were well grounded as each and every vacation we were packed off to our native place. My entire formal education was at Mumbai owing to my father’s career with the Mumbai Police.
After his retirement, my father dedicated his time to social work for Hutatma Mandal. Since 1993, for 25 plus years, he served as the Chairman. He worked incessantly for the welfare of students and development of the school facilities. He used to passionately share and since my young days, I always used to be fascinated by the progress, results and achievements of these rural students.
Around 2016, I decided to focus on farming. I shifted base to Karad to be with my aging parents and to be in proximity to our farm lands at our native place Vadgaon Jairam Swami Tal Khatav Dist Satara. From the year 2020 I am honoured to be associated with this NGO Hutatma Mandal, in the capacity of Trustee.
Over the earlier years and currently as a trustee of Hutatma Mandal, I have witnessed the transformative power of quality education. Our Jairam Swami Vidyamandir has empowered rural students with free education since 1966.
While running this school, we come across monetary crunch at every stage of managing, developing and enhancing infrastructure, upgrading facilities for holistic development, fostering talented minds, implementing initiatives such as smart learning, provide essential amenities etc.
Through this fund-raising campaign of TMM, I appeal to inspire donors, like you, to help raise funds supporting the noble cause of education and its long-term impact on India's prosperity and global standing.

Appeal

Rajiv Gharge here dear friends. I'm raising funds through the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 for NGO Hutatma Mandal, Vadgaon JS. Since 1966 this NGO runs the Jairam Swami Vidyamandir, located at Vadgaon JS Tal Khatav Dist Satara Maharashtra which provides free education to needy students.
Currently 856 such deserving students (460 boys, 396 girls) are studying in classes 5th to 12th Std. from 15 nearby villages These students complete their primary education at their local Govt. Zilla Parishad Schools, but at their villages, facilities for free formal education beyond 5th standard are scarce or non - existent.
As a result of the commitment of parent NGO Hutatma Mandal providing free yet high quality education through teachers and staff dedicated to the overall development of our students, our school has won several awards academic, extracurricular and sports competitions.
Our school has been selected by Central Govt. and has been equipped with Atal Tinkering Lab. Our students have participated in National Robotics competitions. Though on a common sharing basis, regular use of Digital classrooms Smart Boards facilitates learning.
The alumni of JSVM are making the school proud by virtue of their holding very good positions in Govt jobs obtained through State and union level competitive exams. Some are shining in Corporate field, Teaching, Research field and variety of professions ranging from Doctors Engineers Advocates, Entrepreneurs etc. These ex-students have an affectionate bond with the school which stood by them in their humble beginnings.
