Education should be every Child's right, but unfortunately, the lack of hygienic toilets and sanitation infrastructure in some schools is a significant hurdle that keeps children, especially girls, from attending school. Poor sanitation, lack of access to clean drinking water, and inadequate personal hygiene are responsible for 88% of waterborne diseases among Children in India. Lack of adequate washrooms and sanitation facilities is also a significant cause of adolescent girls dropping out of school.
Together, we have the power to make a difference and improve the situation, one school at a time. I am running the Full Marathon (42.195 KM) at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024 to raise funds for Project Pragati - which aims to improve sanitation facilities and promote proper hygiene practices within schools, focusing on access to clean and safe Toilets and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) platforms. This initiative will enable a conducive learning environment by addressing schools' critical sanitation and hygiene challenges.
Goal: Project Pragati aims to facilitate education and transform the lives of children and adolescents by developing sustainable infrastructure for clean water, sanitation and hygiene, supplemented by appropriate behaviour change communication covering 100 schools in India
