About Me
I am Shruti Mane. I have been working at PRIDE India's SPARSH Rural Hospital in Osmanabad since the last three years.
Appeal
The uneven distribution of health care facilities is a major cause of concern in India. With a population of more than 112 million people, Maharashtra is India’s second most populous state. 30% of the state’s population lives below the poverty line. Each year, about 45,000 of the state’s children die before the age of five years due to lack of proper health facilities. Osmanabad (aspirational district as per NITI Ayog), together with its adjoining Latur district is one of the poorest districts with lack of adequate health services, as only 11-12% of villages are close to Primary Health Centers (PHC). On average, the nearest PHC is around 10 km away and the rural hospital is 30 km away from villages. Moreover, there are also gaps in terms of services like timely availability of doctors, drugs, adequate infrastructure, etc. in the government health facility.
The P.R.I.D.E. India has been working in the Osmanabad district providing quality health services to the rural poor people for the last twenty-six years.
I would like to support PRIDE India's SPARSH Rural Hospital so that the hospital is able to reach out to many more patients especially children who are in need of health care. I appeal to you to kindly donate generously so that together we can save more lives.
