About Me

To respond covid-19 team UHRC have come together with an aim to do our best for betterment of community. As we are employees in development sector, We hope and aware that we are collectively able to keep our spirits thriving and steadily overcome the big challenge that Nature has given us to remind us of all humankind being one and that Nature (and the COVID 19 virus) does not distinguish between socio-economic, caste, racial, religious groups.

We believe unless we pool our efforts, we cannot respond effectively to Covid-19 and prioritizes the most vulnerable. This is an opportunity for us to serve our people as well as duty as individuals from development sector.

Appeal

As we all are aware, our country had gone under strict lock-down which had affected the lives and well-being of a very large number of migrant workers in different geographical areas of the country, who were trying to reach their native villages and towns and faced multiple life threatening challenges.

After unlock, the condition is still not very positive. There is still a shortage of testing kits and protective gear for doctors and other members of medical fraternity. This is resulting in delays in adequate testing and containing the spread of virus. UHRC is continuing working as the entire country is witnessing worsened time especially by the disadvantage i.e. vulnerable groups like urban migrants, farmers and those engaged in informal sector are worse hit in India.
Many families in vulnerable pockets are still trying to line up their lives on a track in light of ensuring livelihood, earning and having food. They caught-up in debt and many other liabilities and not able to ensure continuous availability of ration if work or livelihood get affected.
The government is trying to augment the supplies and support but we are still behind what is needed. The informal workers stranded in marginalized areas are hungry and desperate to go to their native villages/towns.
