Appeal
Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) is an intentionally neglected topic in our country today simply because we do not want to believe that such heinous incidents happen in our society. Unfortunately, that is not the case at all. And because it is overlooked and ignored, it continues to percolate into every section and strata of our country across caste, creed and religious lines. 53% of children have been subject to one form of sexual abuse or another. Let that sink in. The odds are that you already know people in your social circle that have been a survivor of CSA before they celebrated their 18th birthday. Out of reported cases, over 94% of these innocents will suffer at the hands of people they know and trust (family members, family friends, neighbours or care givers). Rubaroo not only aims to help children communicate about CSA to a trusted adult and provides the counselling to fight the trauma, but also helps adults prevent future CSA inceidences from occuring and teaches them how to safe guard their children. In a society where survivor blaming is the norm and social taboos are hushed up, Rubaroo stands up for the very people who will help define its future, our children. Sexual Abuse and Sexual Assault on children exists and Rubaroo needs your help to fight it.
