About Me
All children have such limitless potential, all they need is a nurturing and stimulating environment. Children from marginalized communities are deprived of this environment. Their only option is to seek free education, the quality of which is severely lacking.
Thanks to UWM & our friends & family, Sayoni and I started Project STEAM to spark children's curiosity and enable them discover the joy of learning.
Till date, we reached out to 200 children. And it's rewarding to see the children have their 'Eureka' moments!
Appeal
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Imagine trying to learn a lesson
in a classroom trapped inside of a clear sound-proof box. The only way you can
gather information is visually and you will be tested on what you’ve learned.
This could be anything from the basic ABC’s to complex mathematical equations.
Seems a bit unfair, doesn’t it?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Unfortunately, this is how children
with speech and hearing impairments are forced to learn. Easy access to special
schools, special educators trained in sign language, lack of appropriate
educational materials, no scope for higher education are some of the challenges
they face.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">This year, we extended Project
STEAM to students with speech and hearing impairments. For the first time,
students had their own Eureka moments as they put together their STEM models and understood concepts such as energy, elasticity and electricity. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Thank you for opening up the world of Science and its wonders to children with speech and hearing impairments.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p></o:p></p>
