About the project:
The Skilling Training and Cybersecurity Awareness Across Low-Income Communities project by United Way Mumbai is designed to empower underserved populations through targeted interventions in both employment readiness and digital safety. The skilling component of the project is aligned with the objectives of PMKVY and Skill India, with courses accredited by NASD, NSDC, and relevant sector skill councils. The focus is on providing youth with practical skills in logistics, warehousing, and supply chain management, increasing their employability in these fast-growing sectors.
In parallel, the cybersecurity awareness component addresses the rising threat of online fraud and cybercrime, particularly among vulnerable groups. The program educates women, youth, and elderly individuals about the fundamentals of cybersecurity, safe online practices, digital financial tools, and protection against phishing, identity theft, and financial scams. This dual approach ensures that participants not only gain job-ready skills but also the digital literacy necessary to safely navigate the online world.
Job Overview:
The Peer Educator will assist in mobilizing the community for cybersecurity and digital literacy training and support the trainer in organizing and delivering the sessions. The role focuses on community involvement, identifying potential participants, and ensuring smooth execution of the training program.
Job Responsibilities:

Mobilize community members, including women, youth, and elderly, for participation in training programs.

Ensure consistent community involvement in the cybersecurity and digital literacy initiative.

Ensure involvement and efficient learning by the trainees in trainings and workshops.

Assist the Outreach Worker cum Trainer during training sessions, providing logistical and administrative support.

Act as a liaison between the community and the project team, addressing any concerns or challenges from participants.

Maintain attendance, feedback forms, and other documentation related to the sessions.

Provide real-time data to the Outreach Worker and project lead on participant engagement and progress.

Support the trainer in post-training follow-up with the community members to ensure the application of the skills learned.

Assist in preparing the training venue, materials, and refreshments for participants.

Contribute to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all participants.

Carry out any additional tasks assigned by United Way Mumbai (UWM) as required.
Profile Requisites

High school diploma or 12 equivalent; experience in community outreach is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Passionate about community development and willing to learn new skills.

Ability to engage with diverse groups, including women, youth, and elderly.

Organizational and multitasking abilities.

Proficiency in local language; basic English is an advantage.
Remuneration - Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the consultancy fees range is 11000 to 13000 per month
