About the project:
The Skilling Training and Cybersecurity Awareness Across Low-Income Communities project by United Way Mumbai is designed to empower underserved populations through targeted interventions in both employment readiness and digital safety. The skilling component of the project is aligned with the objectives of PMKVY and Skill India, with courses accredited by NASD, NSDC, and relevant sector skill councils. The focus is on providing youth with practical skills in logistics, warehousing, and supply chain management, increasing their employability in these fast-growing sectors.
In parallel, the cybersecurity awareness component addresses the rising threat of online fraud and cybercrime, particularly among vulnerable groups. The program educates women, youth, and elderly individuals about the fundamentals of cybersecurity, safe online practices, digital financial tools, and protection against phishing, identity theft, and financial scams. This dual approach ensures that participants not only gain job-ready skills but also the digital literacy necessary to safely navigate the online world.
Job Overview:
The State Project Officer will oversee the implementation of both skill development programs (logistics and warehousing related courses) and cybersecurity and digital literacy trainings within the assigned state. This role involves managing the entire project cycle, leading the project team, ensuring timely reporting, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall implementation of both the skilling programs and cybersecurity and digital literacy training sessions in the assigned state.
- Oversee and manage the project team, including Outreach Workers, Peer Educators, and trainers.
- Ensure timely mobilization, enrolment, training delivery, and post-training support for all participants.
- Maintain strong coordination with stakeholders, including government bodies, training institutes, and community organizations.
- Ensure high-quality project documentation, including maintaining participant records, daily reports, and monthly progress updates and other reports.
- Provide real-time data to the Outreach Worker and project lead on participant engagement and progress.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor program activities, assess challenges, and make necessary adjustments to the project plan.
- Prepare and submit detailed progress, financial reports and other required documents on a monthly basis.
- Ensure the successful completion of the project’s objectives and targets as per the defined timelines.
- Liaise with primary stakeholders and other external partners to update them on project progress and challenges.
Profile Requisites
- Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences, Management, or a related field. Any graduates with relevant experience preferrred.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in project management, preferably in skill development, education, or community outreach.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in community mobilization and managing large-scale training programs.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in local languages and English communication.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned state.
Remuneration - Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the consultancy fees range is 37000 to 42000 per month
