My Run for Swades! As Gandhiji rightly said - India lives in her villages and for us to become a true super power it is imperative that we empower our fellow Indians living in Rural India. As Indians, we have to make a collective effort to ensure that we create an India free from poverty, free from barriers and move towards a unified and empowered India. I am raising funds for Swades Foundation which is founded by Ronnie & Zarina Screwvala. The Swades Foundation is working towards empowering 1 million rural Indians every 5 years. One of the key strengths of Swades is its unique 360 degree model that it uses to empower villagers by focusing on – Agriculture & Livelihood, Community Mobilisation, Education, Health & Nutrition and Water & Sanitation. Their strength lies in their team of 1200 people of which 80% are working at the grassroots. I urge you to join me in my endeavour of empowering rural India. Every rupee that you donate will go towards the following causes 1. Building 40,000 toilets 2. Building 2781 libraries 3.
